experiment. night shoot :D :D
Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 04:31PM So after my engagement shoot of the amazing Betsy and Stephen we reloaded our gear and headed out to a cemetery, a junk yard and a bright wall. Chad and Tressie Zellner, Caroline Casey and I were SO excited to photograph these beautiful and such fun people. Kathleen randomly was in Texas for she has been modeling up in Oregon and now is on her way up to check out New York, Chantal and Shanas are finishing up their masters at Abilene Christian University. And Joel was a complete trouper. Literally...haha. Three cop cars showed up since they got reports from the cemetery of "flashes" and "unusual behavior"! So, needless to say, since we weren't doing anything disrespectful but just taking photos they let it slide.
I really didn't know what I was doing since I usually shoot strictly using ambient light, so this was a completely new concept. Especially shooting with my aperture at like 11!!
Let me know your thoughts!

Kathleen is one of those fortunate people that she looks stunning from every angle. Which is exactly why she is a spectacular person to take photos of.

I LOVE this photo. Shanas, you are so hot :D. And Joel, your legs are looking pretty good ;)

Above: I love this one for check out her beautiful hair!! And not to mention, it's hard to imagine but this photo is taken completely in the dark. We had to use our flashlights to put on the right lenses. Another thing I just bought for important moments like these :D
Below: In the next photo you can tell what the entire shoot looked like if you were a random car driving by.

Above: There is Chad and Tressie photo-ing Shanas and Joel

First off, check out my new actions/textures! I got the Totally Rad Boutwell Actions. They are not bad and some are going into my favorites folder. Such as--Old Grandpa's Shoes, Acid Wash, and some Smoothing thing.
Second, this photo above has a lot of meaning....for I have another one EXACTLY the same (although not posed) from when we were coming back from Schlitterbahn like four years ago. They fell asleep! So precious. We thought they needed an updated on.

I feel like in this photo you look like some James Bond girl in the older films. BEAUTIFUL!!!

I wish we brought a tripod and we could have gotten us all! :D

The ability to zoom/crop and the extreme amount of detail is so foreign to me! It really is freeing though...and I understand why studio photography is so alluring. You can truly create the perfect elements, every time.

Kathleen, you make me want to completely change my wardrobe and go completely thrift store!!

I usually don't feel short for I'm almost 5'8'' but these ladies were at least 6ft!! Thanks for doing that for us, you literally made my week.
:D

What an amazing shoot! Must have been so much fun!
Totally hot! Love them all!
they look awesome! i so wish i could have stayed longer!! :) we'll have to do that again! where was that sweet other location?
... amazing as always! West Texas will miss your ability to capture its scenery and individuals with such depth and character, but then again we will get to see both of those things in D.C. to a degree we might not otherwise see as a result of you and Brad being there.
blessings to you both!
