Kendra & Nick's Engagements
Monday, June 22, 2009 at 05:07PM Kendra is one of my dear friends :D. She was my roommate for a year--while I planned my wedding and juggled the beginning phases of the photography business and my first counseling job. I'm shocked she's still my friend, since that year was so crazy!!
I can't really describe how amazing she is....but that won't stop me from trying :). I'm going to list some of my favorite qualities about her. First off, she can talk to anyone and make them feel at ease but more than that, she's graced with the ability to find your strengths and then help develop the strengths through encouragement and affirmation. Second, she's a born leader. Without you knowing it, she can inspire you to try harder and improve your weaknesses. It's like you're having a great conversation and you don't even realize she's letting you know what you can work on. She's not afraid of confrontation--people usually say that whenever a person is bossy--but she handles confrontations with such finesse it's not painful, only beneficial. Lastly, she takes the time to relax and be goofy with you. I'll never forget how we dressed up in ridiculous outfits and made that choreographed-goofball dance for Brad. Love you :)
We often joke at what awfully bossy kids we were growing up... (thank goodness we've grown out of that! Right Brad?? :D) A couple of my favorite stories is how she convinced the neighborhood kids to pick up pecan's from her yard for a penny per person...or how she indoctrinated her girlfriends to believe their chest would grow from direct sunlight...lol (hope I'm not in trouble for mentioning that one!! haha)...
She loves people, but she lives to love God. So naturally, she oozes grace and love. Whenever she found a guy that compliments her spirit, a friend can only be happy. Beyond happy. I thank God for the example you provide many couples :), including myself. Love you both.
So to start off these engagement pics, Nick demonstrated a new twist to picking flowers for your bride-to-be :D

Since Kendra was less than impressed with that small buttercup, Nick found something more...substantial :)

Above: These were taken at Monks :D, they both love coffee and hanging out, so it's only appropriate to get some here!
Below: Isn't she just the most beautiful person ever?? I LOVE the wind today. I have bridals this afternoon, and can't wait to see what the wind will do with the veil! YAY

As a testiment to Kendra's friendly nature, she saw this AWESOME car at her neighbor's house and asked if they could borrow it for their photos! It's a 1937 Pontiac Model 6! Crazy right? He even had guy clothes to dress to the era, but we couldnt' find any girls ones! Talk about amazing :D. Thanks so much Robert for letting us borrow your car! You're amazing :)
And if anyone's interested, it is for sale! Contact me for more details!

Since it was a steamy Abilene 96 degrees, we had to include some H2O. Yes or yes??

Hummmm YAYY! Thanks so much you two :D
I had a great time hanging out and clicking away. Hope you find some you LOVE!

Erin, these almost made me cry. One, because Nick has been such an amazing brother and friend ever since my freshman year at ACU. I could not think of a more godly, amazing man. I only know Kendra through other friends but she is amazing, according to all of them, including you. Kendra and Nick, I am so THRILLED that God has brought you together for the amazing journey of marriage. Erin's pictures capture your passion, tenderness and senses of humor. I pray God's hand with you as your approach your wedding and beyond. Nick, you're one blessed man. Kendra, you're one blessed woman. Okay, I'll stop being so sentimental and sappy now. *sniff* Love you guys!
