Teresa & John's Engagements

This creative couple will be getting married in Iowa this August and I have the blessing of capturing it! It's going to be in this beautiful church--but the unique part is the roof, doors, windows are all missing...an old stone church in the country. Sigh--perfection :D

I met them in Houston on Saturday after Nicole's amazing bridal session and they were prepared! They picked out various older buildings, vintage stores, even some condemned places! We met a few obstacles (such as the Houston Gay Pride Parade) but we were flexible and just found other unique locations. So a huge thanks to you both for asking me to photo your wedding!

Now if you are wondering what textures are and if you like them, this is a good session to gauge that :D. Teresa and John LOVE textures, so I tried to do a little bit of this and that to their pics.

Above: Teresa, you are stunning!! :)

Above: Love how the greens look so blurry with the textures :D. So warm and fuzzy.

 Awww!

Above: Again, Teresa, beautiful!

Nice street for a fisheye! :)

Above: Isn't this room fantastic? It's actually a bar and according to John, it's one of the oldest buildings in Houston! Crazy right? Great atmosphere :)

8/8/09!! :D

It was a treat to see how well you compliment each other. You have found your other half :). Such a blessing! Again, thanks for letting me capture your happiness.

We ran out of light and planned on finishing up in the morning before my other engagement shoot, and it turns out I have pink eye and had to cancel everything! SO, a huge sorry about that!

Let me know what you think!

I've been stalking the blog waiting for this moment. :D And I dreamed about it the night after you took the pictures-I know, it's kind of odd.

We LOVE the La Carafe pictures. It is the oldest bar in Houston and the oldest commercial building in the city. The sepia toned textured look is awesome!!! We can't even tell where we were sitting next to the tree. You'd never guess it was on an old street. John says it looks like we're in a park. Yay!!!

Boooo for pink eye-get better soon and take care of yourself. Thank you for photos we cherish. Also, love the new blog look and design-you rock Korie!

The photographs are wonderful - thank you! I especially love the La Carafe photo with Teresa and I at the table, surrounded by darkness, save for the one spot of light from the flash. So dramatic! So beautiful! You really captured quite a spirit in that image....

Hi!
Let me start by saying I stumbled onto your blog b/c I am friends with Kassi Smith and was looking at her and Cal's pics and I am very impressed by your work!! You are incredibly talented!!

I am commenting b/c I live in Houston and would love to know where this couple's pic in the bar (where John says is the the oldest building in Houston) is taken? I love that building and if it is here in my city I'd love to see it. Thanks for letting me bother you with this random question.

Thanks!!
